How long does it take to receive a new TDECU Visa® Debit Card?

Debit cards requested during the online application process, by phone call, or by secure message via TDECU Digital Banking, will arrive by mail in 5 to 7 business days. You also have the option to request your debit card at a TDECU Member Center, where we can instantly issue a card for you during your visit.

How do I notify TDECU of my upcoming travel plans?

For debit cards, notify TDECU at least two business days before your departure by sending Member Care a secure message in TDECU Digital Banking, or calling the number on the back of your card and providing the dates of your travel and the destination.

How can I easily monitor my debit card transactions?

You can stay on top of your debit card transactions by:

The TDECU Digital Banking app also offers a variety of alerts to help you track transactions made to your account, while also giving you the ability to monitor your account balances, at anytime, from anywhere.

What type of cards are supported by the Card Management module?

All TDECU Consumer or Business Debit Cards and Credit Cards.

What is the purpose of the Card Management module?

TDECU is always looking to provide new features and services. We offer controls for cards that give more flexibility with your banking. You can make changes to your Debit Card and Credit Card from Digital Banking anywhere, at any time.

What features are included in the Card Management module?

  • Ability to activate your Debit Card.
  • Ability to disable/re-enable your Debit Card or Credit Card.
  • Ability to report your Debit Card or Credit Card lost or stolen.
  • Ability to set controls and alerts for selected merchants or transaction types.
  • Ability to set travel notifications.

How do I temporarily disable my Debit Card or Credit Card?

  • Start by selecting the Service Center button followed by the Manage Cards option. You can then swipe the toggle to temporarily disable your card from either the Card Services screen or Card Details screen.
  • Disabling your card will prevent any further transactions but will not permanently deactivate your card.
  • You may disable or re-enable your card at your leisure which will take effect immediately. However, pre-authorized and/or reoccurring charges, such as Netflix, Spotify, or a phone bill may still be debited while your card is disabled.

How do I re-enable my Debit Card or Credit Card when it’s disabled?

Simply swipe the same toggle to re-enable the card.

How do I activate my new Debit Card?

  1. Log into TDECU Digital Banking
  2. Click on Service Center from the Navigation Menu
  3. Click on Manage Cards
  4. Tap on card and enter: Exp Month, Exp Year & CVV that is located on the back of the physical card
  5. Click Activate
    • Activation may only happen once you receive your new card.
    • Management of your card may only happen once you have received and activated your new card.

How do I report my card lost or stolen?

  1. Log into TDECU Digital Banking
  2. Click on Service Center from the Navigation Menu
  3. Click on Manage Cards
  4. Tap on card or click on Card Details
  5. Click on Report Lost or Stolen
    • When reporting a card lost or stolen you will need to complete a short questionnaire. This information will be used to alert TDECU of any potential fraud on the account.
    • Once submitted, your card will be permanently deactivated. TDECU will mail a new credit card to your current address on file. To receive a new debit card, send a secured message via Digital Banking, call Member Care, or visit your nearest branch.
    • Once you report your card lost or stolen, the card will appear in a Lost or Stolen status within Digital Banking. When you log back in the card will no longer appear in the Card Management module.

Can I set controls and alerts on all my cards?

Yes, you can set up alerts on all cards separately. Travel notes will allow multiple cards to be notated at the same time. Alerts for your Credit Card are managed on a 3rd party site, unlike your Debit Card which is managed under the new Card Management Module.

Will I receive confirmation that the controls and alerts are set up?

Yes, you will receive a secure message via TDECU Digital Banking and an email confirmation.

How do I add a travel notification to my card(s)?

  1. Log into TDECU Digital Banking
  2. Click on Service Center from the Navigation Menu
  3. Click on Manage Cards
  4. Click on Travel Notifications
    • When setting up a new travel alert you will complete the following:
      • Select the Card
      • Enter Departure Date and Return Date
      • Select Domestic; can enter up to 10 states or select international travel and enter up to 10 countries
      • Enter a traveling contact number
    • From the Travel Notifications screen, you can select one or more cards to include in the travel notification. Add multiple travel destinations — both domestic and international. Remove upcoming travel dates if trips are cancelled or postponed.

Can I request a new PIN for my Debit Card with the Card Management module?

No, please call the phone number (855) 898-7287 to reset or set up your PIN.

What if my card is set to expire?

A new card will be mailed to you and will arrive before the expiration date.

What do I do if see an old card, the wrong card, or no card at all available?

Please contact us at (800) 839-1154 or visit your local Member Center.

What if I don’t have a card?

  • If you do not currently have a card, you will still see the Card Management option on the Digital Banking Navigation Menu.
  • If you do not have a card but click on the Card Management option, the Card Services page will still display. Instead of seeing a digital representation of your card, you will see the following message:
    • Sorry! We couldn’t find any cards tied to your TDECU Digital Banking profile. Please send us a secure message or call us at (800) 839-1154 if you have any questions or concerns.

How do I know what account my Debit Card is linked to?

Once you are on the card details page, please click on the card image to see the
back of the card, there you will see the last 4 numbers of your account linked to that card.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to very high levels of fraud, TDECU Visa® Debit Cards are blocked from use in Romania, Spain, Turkey, Russia, South Africa, Kuwait, Egypt, Singapore, Denmark, United Kingdom, and Netherlands. If you plan to travel to any of these countries and need to use your TDECU Visa® Debit Card, please notify TDECU prior to your trip so that we can make a notation to your card.
