We’re upgrading Make a Loan Payment

Important notice for Members using this service

Make a Loan Payment allows you to pay TDECU loans from non-TDECU accounts.

Starting November 13th, our Make a Loan Payment online portal will be upgraded and you will no longer be required to log in with a username and password to make online payments.

With this new upgrade, all you’ll need is the Primary Loan Account Holder’s:

  • Loan account number
  • Date of birth
  • Last 4 digits of social security number

To access your full loan number, log in to Online & Mobile Banking, or view it on your monthly paper/eDocuments.

Note: TDECU Make a Loan Payment Service will be upgraded to a new vendor effective November 13, 2018.

What is the TDECU Make a Loan Payment Service?

This service allows Members to pay TDECU loans from non-TDECU accounts using an external debit card or bank account.

Why is TDECU upgrading this service to a new vendor?

TDECU is upgrading to a new vendor to improve the loan payment experience by providing a more robust, feature-focused tool.

What channels are available for Members using the TDECU Make a Loan Payment Service?

The following channels are available for Members to make a payment to their TDECU loan:

With NO Fee:

  • One-time Payment: Make a payment online by visiting tdecu.org/make-a-loan-payment
  • Automated Phone System (IVR): Make a payment over the phone by calling 1.877.255.1400

With a $10 Fee:

  • Member Care: Speak directly to a TDECU representative by calling 1.800.839.1154

How will the experience change for Members who currently use this service?

Starting November 13th, payments made on TDECU loans from non-TDECU accounts using this service will no longer require Members to log in with a username and password. All they need is the Primary Loan Account Holder’s:

  • Loan account number
  • Date of birth
  • Last 4 digits of social security number

What benefits are included with the upgraded Make a Loan Payment Service?

Members will be able to:

  • Save debit card or bank account information for future use
  • Future-date loan payments up to five (5) days
  • Post payments the same day if scheduled before 5:30 p.m. CST
  • Use the Make a Payment online portal in English or Spanish
  • View recent & pending payments to avoid duplicates
  • Make payments over the phone by calling 877.255.1400
  • Set up recurring payments to their TDECU loan from another financial institution

What loan types can be paid using the Make a Loan Payment Service?

All loans, except credit cards, less than 60 days delinquent in which the Member is the primary or joint may be paid using this service.

Does a Member need to be current on their loan to use the TDECU Make a Loan Payment Service?

Members must be less than 60 days delinquent to use the TDECU Make a Loan Payment Service through tdecu.org/make-a-loan-payment, or via the services automated phone system.

What information must a Member provide when using the Make a Loan Payment Service?

The Member will need the Primary Account Holder’s:

  • Loan account number (which can be located on a monthly paper/eStatement or within Online/Mobile Banking)
  • Last 4 digits of social security number
  • Date of birth

FOR BUSINESS ACCOUNTS: A Member using this service to make a business loan payment must provide the last 4 digits of the Business Account EIN, and 00 00 0000 as the DOB.

What if a Member using the service via tdecu.org/make-a-loan-payment receives an error stating “Your account number cannot be verified. Please check for errors and resubmit”?

Members must log in with their specific loan account number. Loan account numbers are located by logging in to Online & Mobile Banking or by viewing monthly paper/eStatements.

Are partial payments accepted?

Yes. Members may make a partial payment on their TDECU loan using the Make a Loan Payment Service.

Are principal-only payments accepted?

No. At this time principal-only payments are unable to be processed using this service.

Can TDECU Debit Cards or checking/savings accounts be used to make a payment?

No. Payments made to a TDECU Loan from a TDECU Debit Card or checking/savings accounts are not allowed using this service.

Members can pay a loan using a TDECU account by making a transfer through Online or Mobile Banking, by calling Member Care at 1.800.839.1154 or by visiting any TDECU Member Center.

How can a Member check the status of a payment?

To check the status of a payment, the Member will log in to the One-time Payment portal on tdecu.org/make-a-loan-payment, then select the “Recent/Pending Payments” option at the top right corner of the screen to view the status of previous payments.

Can a payment be cancelled after it is submitted?

Only payments in a ‘pending’ status may be cancelled once submitted.

Are credit cards accepted using the TDECU Make a Loan Payment Service?

No. The ability to accept payments made with a credit card are not offered. However, Members may make a payment using the following payment methods:

  • Debit card
  • One-time ACH transfer from another financial institution

Alternately, Members may make a payment to their TDECU loan by transferring funds from their TDECU account through TDECU’s Online & Mobile Banking, Maxine telephone banking services or by setting up a recurring transfer by visiting a Member Center or calling Member Care at 1.800.839.1154.

Can a Member schedule payments for a future date?

Yes. Payments submitted through the Make a Loan Payment Service may be future-dated up to five (5) days.

Can a Member set up recurring payments using the TDECU Make a Loan Payment Service?

No. A Member may set up recurring payments to their TDECU loan from another financial institution by contacting Member Care at 1.800.839.1154 8 AM to 6 PM CST Mon-Fri and 8 AM to 2PM CST on Saturdays.

Is there a limit to the dollar amount a Member may pay using the TDECU Make a Loan Payment Service?

Yes. Loan payments are limited to $5,000 per payment transaction.

[Note: You can make multiple payments totaling over $5000.00 on the same date.]

Is there a limit to the number of payments a Member may make using the TDECU Make a Loan Payment Service?

No. At this time, there are no limits to the number of payments that may be made using this service; however, payments must be in different amount. (Example: one payment could be $400.00 and another payment at $400.01.)

Will a Member traveling out of the country be able to use the TDECU Make a Loan Payment Service while outside of the United States?
