The headline reads: “Record 2.48 Million Fans Experience Western Heritage at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™”.  This was a 20-day attendance record at the 2014 event.

As for Fun on the Farm…there was plenty of fun to be had by all who attended.  TDECU’s army of volunteers working our sponsored attraction left tired, but happy they were able to visit with and help over 115,000 little farmers and their families “work the farm”.   After planting crops and selling them at the Farmer’s Market, the farmers were rewarded with a visit to the grocery store where they spent part of their earnings fueling up on a snack after all the hard work they had put in at the farm. If you weren’t able to join us at Fun on the Farm this year, take a quick tour of all the activities!

For the first time, TDECU is sponsoring “Fun On The Farm” at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. Fun On The Farm allows children the opportunity to explore the world of agriculture by following the process of producing farm products like animals and crops. Within the exhibit is a mini-branch of TDECU where the junior farmers and their families can learn more about the role “Your Credit Union” can play in making the lives of farmers and all others better. 

So, almost two busy weeks of Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo™ under our big Texas cowboy belt, and a question keeps popping up in conversation – “Are you ready for it to be over?”  From the top of my straw TDECU cowboy hat, to the pointed tip of my black cowboy boots – the answer is a resounding – “No!”
