Direct Convenience with Direct Deposit
Direct Deposit is the electronic transfer of your payroll or retirement payment into your credit union checking or savings account. At your request, your deposit can be divided among several different accounts.
Safe and Confidential
Since your payment is directly deposited into your account, there is no chance for it to be late or lost in the mail. Direct Deposit is more confidential than a check because it is processed electronically, while a check may pass through many hands before its final deposit.
Convenient and Time-Saving
By using Direct Deposit, you will no longer have to wait in line each payday to deposit your paycheck. Even if you are out-of-town, in the hospital, or otherwise occupied, you can be sure your check will be securely deposited into your account.
Earlier Access
Direct Deposit may allow you earlier access to your payments because you do not have to wait for your check to clear.
Manage Your Finances
For your financial management needs, your employer will issue you a payment stub that is similar, if not identical, to what you receive with a traditional paycheck. It will show how much was deposited into your account and how much was taken out for taxes, insurance and other items.
The most popular application of Direct Deposit is for payroll, but it can also be used for many other types of payments, including:
- Annuities
- Bonuses and commissions
- Dividend and interest payments
- Pensions
- Travel expense settlements
- Vendor payments
Sign Up for Direct Deposit
In most cases, your company's payroll department can direct your paycheck or retirement check to your TDECU account. You will need to provide your payroll department with TDECU's routing and transit number (313185515), your TDECU savings account number (as it appears on your monthly statement) or your checking account number (the 8 digits printed at the bottom of your checks).
If you want to directly deposit a government check (like Social Security or
Federal Pensions), contact the agency or contact a TDECU representative.
