Getting on the path to education is as easy as 1, 2, 3...

  1. Complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), and list the colleges you want to attend.
  2. In two-six weeks, you'll receive your Student Aid Report with the info you'll need to know how much you and your family will be expected to contribute (EFC) towards your education.
  3. Your college will send you a Financial Award Notice, listing the financing options available to you – grants, scholarships, loans. When filling out your application for a federal Stafford or PLUS loan use TDECU's Lender Code 821362.

And that's it. Your Stafford or Plus Loan money will be sent directly to your college, usually twice a year.

Need other financing to help fill in ‘the gap’? Check out our Interest-Only Parent Survival Loan and our 0% APR* Student MasterCard.

If you need more help, contact us online or call a Student Loan Specialist at 800-839-1154.

*APR=Annual Percentage Rate. Must secure a Stafford, PLUS, or Parent Survival Loan to be eligible. For students age 18+; for full-time student (12+ hours), cosigner may be required. Interest will remain at 0% until student loan goes into repayment or at the end of four years at which time rate switches to normal TDECU credit card interest rates.
