Personal Injury Coverage for the Online Community
Nowadays it seems like everyone has a Facebook account regardless of age. And quite often than not, we use Facebook and other social media outlets such as blogs, to express our thoughts and feelings. What you might not realize, is in this Internet Age where we post our opinions to the entire world, you can get into serious trouble. Lawsuits targeting those who post or blog allegedly libelous material on the Internet is growing quickly.
But there are ways to protect your voice online through personal injury coverage. Coverage for these claims include the Texas Personal Injury Endorsement (HO-201) which specifically cover libel, slander or defamation of character. There is also the ISO version (HO 24 50) that is more detailed and includes coverage for oral or written publication of material that either slanders or libels a person or organization or ridicules a person’s or organization’s goods, services or products.
So if you are someone who has a heavy online presence you might want to consider adding this type of insurance to your coverage. The last thing you want to do is deal with a lawsuit for your opinions.
TDECU Insurance Agency, LLC does not want our clients to find themselves in a similar situation. For more information on this topic, give us a call at 888.833.7358.
